A WEEK OF WELSHNESS !

Haverfordwest went red again this week! This time the independent shops of the Haverfordwest Business Circle have dressed their shop windows for a Week of Welshness as a lead up to St. Daivd's Day on Sunday! It makes for a beautiful, uplifting and spring like walk through the shopping areas in the town centre. Some of the shops are offering Welsh cakes and bara brith, to their regular customers and some shop owners and staff will also be dressing up.

For centuries, 1st March has been a national festival. Saint David was recognised as a national patron saint at the height of Welsh resistance to the Normans. Nowadays the day is celebrated by schools and cultural societies throughout Wales.

Valentine Balloons 2015

The morning of Saturday Feb 14th you may of noticed a bit of love in the air in Haverfordwest.
Throughout the town was approximately 200 red, heart shaped balloons brightened up the place and, hopefully, brought a smile to all who saw them.
The Haverfordwest Business Circle, decided to take on the task that the street pastors started last year.
The street pastors spread love and happiness in the form of balloons in the town creating quite a buzz with questions who? why? when?
It certainly brought a smile to the residents, so we at the business circle decided to carry on this new tradition, in the hope that it would again bring a much needed lift to Haverfordwest.
The event would not of been possible without the help of those who took time to help organise and get up early to tie the balloons.
And the generosity of Pembrokeshire County Council, The Town Council and The 4cs, whos continue to show their support in revitalising Haverfordwest, is greatly appreciated.
The Business Circle hope you all had a lovely valentines day
